Holy Yoga

Our classes provide an opportunity to be completely consumed by our Father and the Holy Spirit through a different medium - yoga. Traditionally, yoga means: "to join" "to yoke" "to unite" - which is exactly what the intention is at Eastpoint Christian Church. Matthew 11:28-30 (TPT) "Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to Me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with Mine. Learn My ways and you'll discover that I'm gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in Me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear." And as contradictory as it may sound, "finding rest" on a yoga mat is true. When we get intentional about breathing Jesus in, the Light of Peace, and exhaling ourselves, and the stresses we carry, moving our bodies with that breath - we find refreshment - not to mention physical and emotional healing.

Everyone and every body is welcome - all ages and free admission. There are modifications for those with less experience, and advanced options for the veteran yogi. We have chips that allow me to know who prefers to be left alone and who would like some hands-on assistance. No one is judged in or out of the class.

Classes will begin promptly at 6pm and end at 7:30. If you like to socialize (like me), please come anytime after 5:30pm - we welcome this until 5:50pm. We'll make space for late arrivals so that the classes are not interrupted. If you need to leave prior to 7:30, please let us know so that we can place you near the door to honor those that might need quiet time.

The classes are 75 minutes long: 10 minutes interacting, praying, and grounding; 10 minute warm-up; 20 minute flow; 15 minute cool down; 20 minute guided prayer and relaxation.

What you need: mat, hand towel, water, blanket, and comfortable clothes, a strap (if desired), and 1-2 blocks

What you don't need:  cell phone - we ask that everyone turn their phones on silent/off and store them with your street clothes

We do have some extra supplies, but cannot promise that we'll have ample supply if classes fill up.
